Method (using Paint Tool Sai, a similar effect can be done in PS):
1. Made a Multiply layer over the lineart, added skin, hair and staff colours
2. Made a Normal layer above that, did light airbrushing around the skin (ambient occlusion) and turned it into a Clipping Group onto the Multiply colour layer
3. Made another Multiply layer and painted hard shadows with a pink tone (because of the light of the staff later). Locked the layer's colours using Preserve Opacity, and airbrushed the areas opposite the light with a light blue
4. Made a Luminosity layer and airbrushed in the 'glow' of the staff, as well as along Jade's hair, skin and clothing
